Night Flowers – “Glow In The Dark” Video (Stereogum Premiere)
UK indie-pop quintet Night Flowers will soon release a brand new glow-in-the-dark 7″ fittingly titled “Glow In The Dark.” A few years back we premiered a video from this band’s self-titled EP, and “Glow In The Dark” is a step away from that song’s dreamy Slowdive-inspired shoegaze sound toward a still atmospheric but more pop-centric sound, taking the dissonance off Sophia Pettit’s vocals and incorporating more driving guitar lines.
To accompany the single, Night Flowers have released a video for “Glow In The Dark” by director Darren Topliss. Shot during the band’s recent tour of Japan, it features multi-layered images of Pettit singing along to the track (playing from her pocket on her phone) in busy streets and empty alleyways across Tokyo’s Shibuya district at 3AM. Check it out below.
