The former Danity Kane and Diddy-Dirty Money member Dawn Richard has been making awesomely idiosyncratic future-pop music, sometimes under the name D?WN, for the past few years. And today, she’s got a new video for “Wake Up,” her excellent Machinedrum-produced weirdo-club single. On paper, the new video could almost pass for a standard pop video, with its dancers and its colored smoke and its palm trees. But what sets it apart is its styling, which is somehow both Egyptian pharaoh and Mad Max: Fury Road. It looks amazing. Watch the video below, via NPR.
