Adam Torres – “Outlands”
Our introduction to the first Adam Torres album in a decade was “High Lonesome,” a blearily gorgeous folk-rock float that split the difference between Mutual Benefit and Cass McCombs. Now Torres has shared a second single from Pearls And Swine called “Outlands.” Clocking in at more than six minutes long, it sprawls like the Texas plains Torres now calls home and is at least as haunting, thanks in no small part to the singer’s otherworldly falsetto. Listen below, and consider it for the soundtrack next time you’re directing an eerie, depressive Western.
Pearls And Swine is out 9/9 on Fat Possum. Pre-order it here.
