Guided By Voices are "reuniting" again -- but rather than reassembling the classic mid-'90s lineup as with GBV's 2010 reunion, this time Robert Pollard is merely reclaiming the band name after the previous reunion fizzled out in 2014. Whatever; if it results in Uncle Bob once again racing through a zillion miniature garage-pop masterpieces while pounding domestic beer, it's cool with me. Before their performance at Calgary's Sled Island festival this weekend, the Dayton band played a gig in their hometown, taking the stage at Oddbody's for a throng of their most zealous fans.
