M.I.A. Says She’s “On The Verge Of Leaking This LP”
Earlier this year, M.I.A. claimed that she’d have a new album for us in July. You may have already figured this out, but it is now July, and we have heard nothing about a new M.I.A. album. And if M.I.A.’s volatile Twitter is anything to go on, this lack of new M.I.A. albums may have to do with factors outside M.I.A.’s control. In fact, as Pitchfork points out, M.I.A. recently threatened to leak her own album on Twitter, complaining about “big American artists take from me and my work and refugee sentiments from my work before it’s released.” Here’s what she had to say:
I hate it when big American artists take from me and my work and refugee sentiments from my work before it's released – survivor !!!

So: What big American artists are biting M.I.A. this time? Leave your theories in the comments, since I honestly have no idea.
