Carl Broemel – “Snowflake”
My Morning Jacket’s Carl Broemel is getting ready to release 4th Of July, his first new solo album since 2010, next month. We’ve already heard early singles “Sleepy Lagoon” and “In The Dark,” and he’s recently shared another new one. “Snowflake” is a gracefully-picked track with an extended whistling outro. “’Snowflake’ is partly influenced by the interesting but questionable book The Hidden Messages in Water where a scientist flash freezes water drops while participants think happy or sad thoughts,” Broemel explained in a press release. “Positive thoughts made beautiful snowflakes and negative thoughts made messy ugly shapes.” Listen below.
4th Of July is out 8/19 via Broemel’s own label Stocks In Asia and Thirty Tigers. Pre-order it here.
