Lydia Loveless – “Out On Love”
Lydia Loveless is gearing up to drop her latest full-length effort on Bloodshot Records, Real, later this summer. We’ve already heard the lead single “Longer” and received a visual accompaniment for it. Today, she shares “Out On Love” via NPR.
The song is a departure for Loveless, a tender, muted, minimal mid-tempo ballad, but it maintains her unflinching rawness and emotive potency. She sings of a perfect love lost, and her longing for the simpler, joyful times is palpable as she laments “If I could write to you then all I would say/ Is I needed you almost every day.” Though “Out On Love” has been featured in her set list for over a year and a half, it sounds great with a renewed energy on wax. Listen.
Real is out 8/19 via Bloodshot. Pre-order it here.
