Yohuna – “The Moon Hangs In The Sky Like Nothing Hangs In The Sky”
Recently-crowned Artist To Watch Yohuna has shared another song from her long-in-the-making debut album, Patientness. “The Moon Hangs In The Sky Like Nothing Hangs In The Sky” is at once both towering and insular, mixing awestruck wonder with a deep and lonely pain — two opposing forces coalescing into a strained and yearning hymn. It demonstrates Johanne Swanson’s attention to texture and atmosphere; every instrument is buried in layers, gliding against each other in circular rhythms, conveying distance and restraint. “Walking home on Sunday night/ The moon hangs in the sky like nothing hangs in the sky,” she sings. “Like the space between you and me/ Means nothing is right like nothing is right.” Listen via NPR below.
