Nice As Fuck – “Door” Video (Feat. Albert Hammond Jr.)
Nice As Fuck — the post-punk trio of Jenny Lewis, Erika Forster, and Tennessee Thomas — released their self-titled debut under the radar last month. Today they’ve more publicly revealed a video for the album’s lead single “Door,” and it features Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. as a cantankerous landlord threatening to shut down Tennessee Thomas’s real-life East Village pop-up shop/community clubhouse the Deep End Club. What follows is a protest party that eventually takes to the streets. Watch below via Noisey.
The concept blurs the line between fiction and reality, because unfortunately the Deep End Club really is shutting down this weekend. The band offered a short statement about the clip:
Here’s the video for “Door” filmed in the Deep End Club, where the songs were written, surrounded by members of our activated community. The Deep End Club closes its “Door” this weekend after three years, but its message of Peace & Love will continue on in many forms.
