Massive Attack – “Come Near Me” (Feat. Ghostpoet) Video & “The Spoils” (Feat. Hope Sandoval)
A few days ago UK legacy trip-hoppers Massive Attack debuted “Come Near Me,” “The Spoils,” and “Dear Friend” on their iPhone app, Fantom, which they also used to release their Ritual Spirit EP. Hopefully realizing that most people aren’t going to have an app for one specific artist because phone memory is so frustratingly limited, they’ve shared a video for “Come Near Me” and official audio for “The Spoils” outside of the app. The visuals for the Ghostpoet-assisted “Come Near Me” were directed by Ed Morris, and they are a great accompaniment for the muted, minimal, dreary song. “The Spoils” features dream-pop stalwart Hope Sandoval, for a gauzy, floating excursion. Massive Attack have come back strong as ever this year. Watch and listen below.
