Katie Dey – “Fleas” Video
Newly appointed Artist To Watch Katie Dey is set to release Flood Network in just over a week. She’s already shared “Only To Trip And Fall Down Again” and “Fear O’ The Light.”
Today she gives us another taste of the album in the form of a clip for “Fleas” via The FADER. The song is an intricately textured mix of blips, synths, and fissures that blast apart to zoom around and collide into each other as she flails and pleas for solace from a suffocating love. She sings, “Feels like I’m covered in fleas/ Air stickin’ to my leg/ Really fucking with my head /I can’t wait till you’re gone. The accompanying visuals are trippy, entrancing, and dizzying just like the song, as psychedelic, poly-chrome backgrounds swirl in and out of each other interspersed with classic cartoon clips.
Flood Network is out 8/12 via Joy Void Recordings. Pre-order it here.
