The Weeknd Donates To Black Lives Matter, University Of Toronto
The Weeknd is the latest artist to support the Black Lives Matter movement, but he didn’t do it with a song, tweet, or dedication at a concert. The XO captain gave BLM a few 0s, four to be exact, donating $250,000 according to The FADER. The weekend has been an active supporter of BLM on Twitter for years, most recently the day after Philando Castile was killed by police in Minnesota.

The Weeknd has also recently donated $50,000 to the University Of Toronto help implement an Ethiopic Studies program. It’s nice to know not all his money goes to cocaine and strippers, as his songs would seem to indicate.
