Now Chance The Rapper Is Giving Away Other People’s Albums For Free
Chance The Rapper has been giving away his own music for free for years. But now, he’s apparently graduated to giving away other people’s music for free. In a new video for Billboard to promote his new cover story, the young star heads to Reckless Records in Chicago’s Wicker Park to “buy a bunch of music that I’ve never heard before and give it out to people for free, ’cause why not?” So he sets up camp on the sidewalk and hands out albums by the likes of FKA Twigs, Mick Jenkins, Lenny Kravitz, Kenny G, Ariana Grande, the O’Jays, John Legend, and the cast of the hit musical Cats to his adoring fans while shouting things like “Free music! Get yer free music!” He also calls Joanna Newsom’s Ys “one of my favorite albums of all time” and keeps a copy of Divers for himself, because he has excellent taste. Watch below.
