Last year Brooklyn quintet and Dave Longstreth associates Pavo Pavo, the band formerly known as Plume Giant, impressed us with their single “Ran Ran Run.” The first advance track from their new album Young Narrator In The Breakers is even better. “Wiserway” is a psychedelically inclined chamber-pop duet that gorgeously floats through the space between Grizzly Bear and Sparklehorse. Pavo Pavo member Oliver Hill told us about it via email:

“Wiserway” is about extremes – the main elements are a bass line and an autoharp, so there’s an ocean of space between them. It’s meant to resemble a tornado in that way – destructive when its close-up and so peaceful from a distance.
