Gucci Mane Teases OutKast (?!) Collaboration
When OutKast got back together to play every festival on the planet two years ago, it didn’t seem likely that they’d stay together and keep recording. But André 3000 has lately recorded new verses for Frank Ocean and Travis Scott songs, and we have now heard the first rumblings that there could be new OutKast music in the future. Talking shit on Snapchat last night, Gucci Mane rattled off a list of luminaries with whom he has recorded new music. In a quick burst of information, Gucci said that he’s recorded new songs with Boosie Badazz, E-40, Project Pat, Lil Wayne, and, yes, OutKast. Now: It’s entirely possible that Gucci misspoke, or that he really just means he recorded a verse for another Big Boi solo album. Still, it’s an exciting thing to contemplate. Here’s the video:

I hope the news that Gucci and Boosie have a new song together doesn’t get lost in the shuffle. Those guys are both Southern rap titans, but they’ve both spent so much time in prison in the past few years that they haven’t had too many chances to record together. As far as I know, the only time they’ve both been on the same song was Yo Gotti’s “5 Star” remix in 2009.
