Vampire Weekend’s Chris Tomson Announces Solo Project Dams Of The West, Shares “Death Wish”
Since Vampire Weekend put out Modern Vampires Of The City in 2013, its members have focused on pursuing their own projects: Rostam Batmanglij left the band completely to focus on his solo career and a forthcoming Hamilton Leithauser collaboration; Chris Baio put the moves on his long-standing project Baio and released a full-length, The Names; Ezra Koenig has been busy politicking and cozying up with Beyoncé; and now drummer Chris Tomson has announced that he’s going to be releasing a solo album under the name Dams Of The West. It’s called Youngish American and was produced by the Black Keys’ Patrick Carney. Listen and watch a video for new track “Death Wish” via Pitchfork below.
