Marissa Nadler – “The Best You Ever Had”
Marissa Nadler released her spectral album, Strangers, back in May by way of Sacred Bones, and today she announced that a companion piece will be out later this month. Bury Your Name comprises eight home recordings that were made around the time that Nadler was writing and recording Strangers. Its debut single is the mournful lost love song “The Best You Ever Had.” “Maybe it is for the best/ To keep you in song/ Call me a lover/ Call me the best you ever had,” she sings. “I know you’re wrong.” Listen below.
Bury Your Name is out 9/23 via Sacred Bones.
