Watch Ariana Grande Perform Bonus Track “Jason’s Song” With The Roots On The Tonight Show
Eight years ago, the Broadway composer Jason Robert Brown cast a young singer and actress named Ariana Grande in his musical 13. And earlier this year, Grande brought in Brown to work with her on a new song. That song, which Grande called “Jason’s Song,” appeared as a bonus track on some editions of her new album Dangerous Woman. It’s a showy, jazzy piece of work, and I get the feeling that, if Grande got her way, a whole lot of her music would sound like that. Last night, Grade performed the song on The Tonight Show, with the Roots and Brown backing her up. (This was Grande’s second time performing on The Tonight Show in two weeks.) Immediately afterward, she said that it was her “favorite performance” that she’s ever done. It’s certainly a showcase for her voice, and it presents it in a way we don’t often hear it. Check out the performance below.
That was my favorite performance i've ever done i think. thanks @MrJasonRBrown for using my voice the way it's meant to be heard. love you.
