Hello Shark – “Alligator”
“Alligator” opens Delicate, the latest album from Hello Shark, Lincoln Halloran’s project that has been releasing music for almost a decade. It’s a simple introduction to the songwriter’s tendency to place pointedly specific moments next to widescreen musings. The song begins with a long drive that ends in a park, watching “Frisbees that glow in the dark ’til they stop little hearts.” Halloran goes on to self-reflect: “I spent all my tomorrows yesterday,” sounding lovelorn against a plaintive guitar and sighing instrumentation courtesy of Attic Abasement’s Michael Rheinheime, who also produced the record. Delicate is out 9/30 via Orindal Records.
