Opeth – “The Wilde Flowers”
Swedish prog-metal outfit Opeth are following up 2014’s Pale Communion with Sorceress at the end of the month. We’ve already heard the title track and “Will O The Wisp,” and today they’ve shared the third single “The Wilde Flowers.” It’s a tightly rhythmic, highly melodic assault with dark, vivid imagery like “searing skin on a funeral pyre” laced throughout heavy guitar strums and deep-boring bass that melts into a delicate shimmer and careens into an all-out barrage for the last 30 seconds or so. Listen.
Sorceress is out 9/30 on Moderbolaget/Nuclear Blast. Pre-order it here.
