Last night was a big one for comforting roots-rock on late-night TV. Wilco played Colbert and did a couple of comedy bits, while Band Of Horses, their peers in warm-and-easy festival-friendly guitar rock, did musical-guest duty on The Tonight Show. Playing “Casual Party,” the first single from their newish album Why Are You OK, Band Of Horses were limber and energetic, and their whole triple-guitar attack continues to sound just as good live — even in the sterile confines of a TV studio — as it does on record.
