Chance The Rapper To Perform At White House Christmas Tree Lighting Concert
President Obama obviously has love for Chicago, and no one seems to love Chicago more than Chance The Rapper, so their connection is a no-brainer. Earlier this year, the POTUS already met with Lil Chano from 79ths to discuss criminal justice reform, and we learned he keeps keeps “Acid Rain” in steady rotation among other Chance songs.
Now Chance will be returning to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. as one of the headliners at the White House’s annual National Christmas Tree Lighting concert on 12/1. Chance will take the the stage along with Kelly Clarkson and Yolanda Adams. One can only hope Adams will sub in for Kelly Price and link with Chance to cast some Christmas light beams.
This is the 94th anniversary of the White House’s National Christmas Tree Lighting, and although tickets to the event are free, attendees are selected through a lottery. Anyone can enter the lottery, which opens 10/7 at 10AM ET and runs through 10AM ET on 10/10. Information about entering the lottery will be available here.
