Thee Oh Sees – “The Poem”
Over the summer, Californian psych-garage veterans Thee Oh Sees released A Weird Exits, an album so frantic and fearsome and great that we made it Album Of the Week. And next month, they’ll follow it up with a companion-piece LP called An Odd Entrances; they’ll donate profits from its first pressing to Elizabeth House, a California charity that helps homeless women and children. “The Poem,” the first song we’ve heard from the album, sounds like nothing on A Weird Exits. Instead, it’s a warm, goopy, genuinely Beatlesque hymn of a song. Check it out below, via Pitchfork.
An Odd Entrances is out 11/18 on Castle Face.
