Uniform – “Ghosthouse”

Uniform – “Ghosthouse”

The New York-based noise band Uniform comprises Ben Greenberg (ex-the Men, Hubble) and Michael Berdan (ex-Drunkdriver, York Factory Complaint), and today the duo announced that Sacred Bones will release their forthcoming EP titled Ghosthouse. The three-song EP is the precursor to an as-yet-untitled full-length which will be out in 2017. Uniform shared the title track today, which was named after Umberto Lenzi’s 1988 film. Uniform told Thump that the lead single is an attempt to reconcile with a friend’s death:

Tematically, ‘Ghosthouse’ centers around the damaged relationship with a friend who has since passed away. It speaks from the perspective of someone who chronically wakes up in the middle of the night, lamenting whether or not they can ever make peace with the dead (hence the repeated lyric ‘all the ghosts come out at night’ could be taken somewhat literally).
