Daveed Diggs is one talented dude. In addition to leading the awesome noise-rap experimentalists Clipping., he's been accumulating a respectable TV resume, following up his Tony Award-winning performance in Hamilton with roles in shows like The Get Down and Black-ish. Now, Deadline reports that he's signed on to executive produce an ABC pilot about a rapper-turned-mayor. The single-camera comedy, written by Jeremy Bronson, follows the story of rapper who runs for mayor to promote his new mixtape and unexpectedly wins. Bronson is also executive producing along with director James Griffiths and Jamie Tarses, Scott Stuber, and Dylan Clark of Bluegrass FanFare. As far as we know, Diggs isn't actually acting in the show, but his involvement in any capacity is a good sign.
