Early next year, Michael Chapman, a 75-year-old legend of British folk music, will release his new album 50 on the great roots-music label Paradise Of Bachelors. Steve Gunn, the young space-folk guitar hero who featured Chapman in his great “Ancient Jules” video, produced the album, Chapman’s follow-up to his 2014 LP Fish. The new album includes contributions from younger heads like Pelt’s Nathan Bowles and Jeff Tweedy collaborator James Elkington. First single “That Time Of Night,” an expansive ramble, is a duet with Gunn, and it is very pretty. You can listen to it below.
