Watch Iggy Pop Bash Out 5 Songs On Austin City Limits
This week’s Austin City Limits stars Iggy Pop, one of the greatest, most provocative performers in modern music history. The punk pioneer gets a whole episode to himself, performing a set that spans from his ’70s classics to the recent Post Pop Depression. He brought along a band heavy on Queens Of The Stone Age (Josh Homme, Dean Fertita, Troy Van Leeuwen) plus Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders and indie rock journeyman Matt Sweeney. Watch them roar through “Funtime” from 1977’s The Idiot below.
UPDATE: Check out “China Girl” (via Rolling Stone), “Paraguay” (via Pitchfork), “Success” (via Spin), and “Lust For Life” below.
And here’s an interview with Iggy and Homme:
Iggy’s episode of ACL airs at 9PM ET/8PM CT on PBS.
