Eagles Of Death Metal’s Friend Colin Hanks Directing Bataclan Attack Documentary
Almost exactly a year ago, Eagles Of Death Metal’s concert at the Paris concert hall Bataclan was the site of a horrific terrorist attack that left 89 people dead. The band has already given some in-depth interviews about the event, but now they’ll be the subject of a full-length documentary by their friend, actor and director Colin Hanks.
Deadline reports that Eagles Of Death Metal: Nos Amis (Our Friends) will air this February on HBO and will screen in theaters at least long enough to qualify for 2018 Oscar consideration. The film, Hanks’ second documentary following last year’s All Things Must Pass: The Rise And Fall Of Tower Records, will cover the night of the attack, the band’s triumphant return to Paris, and frontman Jesse Hughes’ controversial comments about the event. It will be the first movie financed by concert promoter Live Nation’s film division, Live Nation Films.
