The Rolling Stones – “Ride ‘Em On Down” (Eddie Taylor Cover)
Next week, the Rolling Stones are returning to their roots with the blues covers album Blue & Lonesome. We’ve already heard their takes on Little Walter’s “Just Your Fool” and “Hate To See You Go,” and now they’ve shared another track. “Ride ‘Em On Down” dates back to the 1930s, when Delta blues legend Bukka White originally wrote it under the title “Shake ‘Em On Down.” When Chicago blues singer Eddie Taylor recorded the song in 1955, he changed the title to “Ride ‘Em On Down,” and his version served as the Stones’ inspiration. Listen below.
Blue & Lonesome is out 12/2.
