Montreal psych quintet the Besnard Lakes are gearing up to The Besnard Lakes Are The Divine Wind EP early next year, which extends from last year’s A Coliseum Complex Museum sessions. An early taste of the two-track project comes in the mid-tempo, rhythmic gallop of “Laura Lee.” Warped atmospherics, thick layers of guitar, and intricate percussion swell underneath Olga Goreas’ hallowed vocals before beautiful harmonies come in and the energy picks up for a deftly layered crescendo. If “Laura Lee” is any indication, the forthcoming EP will be a quick clinic in hazy psychedelia. Listen.
