Pharrell wrote and recorded several songs for the Hidden Figures soundtrack. He’s already performed a bunch of them live at the Toronto International Film Festival, and now they’re starting to trickle out ahead of the soundtrack’s release next week. The movie chronicles the story of three black women who were integral in John Glenn’s space launch in 1962. “Able” fittingly captures the sentiment of being talented, overlooked, and unappreciated over N.E.R.D.-leaning guitar, triumphant big band brass, and gospel choir harmonies.
