Juelz Santana – “Ol’ Thang Back” (Feat. Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, Method Man, & Redman)
Crusty New York rap-veteran hardheads need to stick together. That’s exactly what happens on “Ol’ Thing Back,” as five different rappers — all from in or around New York City, most of them from different crews — unite to evoke the gritty boot-stomp feeling of ’90s New York club-rap. Santana, who didn’t get famous until the ’90s were over, is actually by far the youngest rapper on the track. All the others — Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Redman — came to prominence in the early- to mid-’90s. And all of them come off hard. Listen to the track below, via Billboard.
Amazingly, that isn’t the only new song that features both Method Man and Redman. Meth’s fellow Wu-Tang member Masta Killa also recruited the two of them for his new Adult Swim single “Therapy.” It’s a dusty boom-bap track, and you can hear it below, also via Billboard.
Masta Killa’s new album Loyalty Is Royalty is coming soon on Nature Sounds.
