Watch SNL‘s “Last Christmas With Obama” Music Video With Chance The Rapper & D.M.C.
Chance The Rapper didn’t host Saturday Night Live last night, but he certainly took it over. Chancellor Bennett’s third appearance on the show (second as the headlining musical guest) featured two moving musical performances plus funny appearances in a sketch and a digital short.
First came a digital short called “Jingle Barack” starring Chance and Kenan Thompson as Run-D.M.C., with the plot of “Christmas In Hollis” tweaked for Barack Obama’s last Christmas in the White House. D.M.C. himself showed up to help with that one. Near the end of the show Chance also starred as the three wise men in a sketch about a goofy comedic version of the nativity story in Long Island. As for his actual performances, they featured “Finish Line/Drown” with Noname and “Same Drugs” with an assist from Francis And The Lights. Both of those supplied the kind of sentimental inspiration Chance has come to specialize in. Watch it all below.
