Thin Lips are embarking on a European tour with Modern Baseball and the Superweaks at the end of the month, and the Philly-based bands are releasing a tour-exclusive 7″ featuring new songs to celebrate the occasion. Thin Lips’ contribution builds on the bouncy, hyper-energetic nature of their 2016 debut, Riff Hard. “Not Losing Sleep” is a restless song about a relationship impasse in which denying that there are problems results in a good night’s sleep, but any chance at confrontation prompts the usual tossing and turning. “If we don’t fight about it, I can start to breathe/ If we don’t smother every ounce of our autonomy,” Chrissy Tashjian sings with a biting tone where you can’t quite tell if she’s egging her partner on or just exhausted. “No, I don’t think we’ll get anywhere tonight/ There’s no perspective when you’re holding on too tight.” Listen to it via GoldFlakePaint below.
