Guided By Voices have announced the upcoming spring release of their new LP August By Cake, which will mark the Ohio band’s first double-LP, their longest yet spanning 32-tracks, as well as Robert Pollard’s 100th(!) album in total. So there’s a lot to celebrate, not least of which includes the excellent lead single “Hiking Skin.” Clocking in at last than two minutes, full of cymbal crashes and guitar fuzz, and Pollard’s voice as booming as ever, the song is classic GBV.
