Lately, Faith Evans, R&B veteran and Biggie Smalls’ widow, has been working on an album of duets with her late husband. The King & I is a curious project. It’s entirely built around the vocals that Biggie left behind — some unreleased, some well-known. But Evans has recorded her own new vocals, and she’s also solicited help from some of that era’s biggest stars (Busta Rhymes, Lil Kim, the Lox) and producers (DJ Premier, Salaam Remi, the showed-up-soon-afterward Just Blaze). We’ve already posted the Jadakiss collab “NYC,” and now Evans has also shared “When We Party,” a lush life-celebrating club song that feature’s Biggie’s occasional adversary Snoop Dogg.
