DIIV mastermind Zachary Cole Smith has checked himself into rehab, Pitchfork reports. “So I guess now is the time for me to stop kidding myself, and everybody else,” he wrote in an Instagram post last night. “Checking in now for a long-haul inpatient treatment… I’ve taken this road way past the point of sanity and fucked with way too many people. See you all on the other side, I love you forever, you know who you are.” It’s unclear if this is related to the recent “urgent health issue” that forced the band to cancel the remainder of their European tour last year, but Smith has openly struggled with drugs and addiction in the past.
