The Shins – “Painting A Hole”
We are now one week away from the release of Heartworms, the first album from the Shins in five years. We’ve heard a handful of early tracks: “Dead Alive,” “Name For You,” “Mildenhall.” And now we get to hear one more. It’s a big, clumping slab of psychedelic pop called “Painting A Hole.” It’s fun and catchy and way less reserved than your average Shins song. I’m not sure James Mercer has ever put as much focus on the drums as he does with this one. Check it out below.
Heartworms is out 3/10 on Columbia.
