Jack Antonoff To Re-Score The Breakfast Club Live
The Los Angeles County Museum Of Art (LACMA) began an ongoing series this year titled “Bring The Noise” where musicians perform an original score to a film of their choice. Last week saw Yacht soundtrack Alien, and back in January Seth Bogart composed a take on Welcome To The Dollhouse. Now in April, Jack Antonoff of Bleachers, fun., and co-producer of Lorde’s sophomore album, will be performing a new score for the 1980s classic The Breakfast Club. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Antonoff explained why he chose the John Hughes film as his selection:
I grew up in suburban New Jersey in a similar state of strange boredom as The Breakfast Club. I constantly thought about getting out, and that feeling is so present in this film. A lot of my world now is looking back at that time period from different vantage points.
