“Nevermind, nevermind/ The world will swing back ’round in a matter of time,” IDER sing in the opening verse of their latest song “Nevermind,” which they just gave the music video treatment. In other words, IDER’s Meg Markwick and Lily Somerville ask us, why worry about the small things when in the end they won’t matter? It looks like we might as well sit back and enjoy the ride. In the video, we watch as the North London friends-turned-musical-duo sing in an abandoned warehouse while spasms of other technicolor images flash on screen. It’s a bit of a trip, and “Nevermind” is rich with big synth sounds and the luxurious tones of Markwick and Somerville’s harmonization. IDER are set to release their debut EP Gut Me Like An Animal — which notably features Shura’s first production for an outside artist on “Does She Even Know” — at the end of the week. The song is a dig at the dog eat dog world we live in — greedy, fast paced, chaotic. We wanted the video to represent this carelessness and be suitable for our increasingly short attention spans.
