Kendrick Lamar – “DNA” Video
Kendrick Lamar is conquering the world more and more each day. On Friday he released his overwhelming, exceptional new album, DAMN., before going on to run a victory lap for the soon-to-debut-at-#1 LP at his instantly iconic Coachella headlining set on Sunday. And today he’s gone and given us a video for the album’s early standout “DNA” that continues the momentum of “Humble” in cementing Kendrick as this year’s greatest producer of visuals.
The video for “DNA,” directed by Kendrick alongside Dave Free under their moniker Nabil & the Little Homies, features Don Cheadle interrogating a handcuffed K. Dot, at first riffing on the rapper’s “two first names” before launching into a furious lip-sync of Lamar’s lyrics. The two alternate parts in rapid-fire lockstep before the music briefly ducks out and comes back in with Kendrick going full Kung Fu Kenny for the song’s blitzkrieg outro. It all comes to a close with Schoolboy Q mercilessly punching out the camera. Watch below.
DAMN. is out now on TDE/Interscope.
