DMX, the Lox, Swizz Beatz, Eve, Cassidy, and Drag-On performed at the Ruff Ryders' 20-year reunion show at Brooklyn's Barclays Center last night. Although maybe "performed" isn't exactly the right word for what DMX did, which XXL charitably describes as "gargling indecipherable sounds that were supposed to be rap lyrics." He also went off on a lengthy, surprisingly emotional mid-set rant about his personal struggles:
Whenever I went through something, it brought me closer to God. And I stayed in the something! So now I'm closer to God. But being closer is hard because he attacks, gets stronger, becomes much harder to fight...But that's what it's always been! Joy, pain, dark with the light, sun with the rain. But with the right perspective, there can be something to gain. If you look for the good in the bad, not the sun when it rains. In every curse, there's a blessing, but you have to be willing to look for it.

DMX is standing on a speaker and he definitely has some substances in his body. This crowd is stressed for his safety.

And that wasn't the only surprisingly development of the evening! During Cassidy's performance, as XXL reports, he took some swipes at Lil Yachty And Lil Uzi Vert in a freestyle: "Who the best MCs me, J. Cole or Kendrick?/ I miss the days when Jay took over the business/ I witnessed Hova change the world, I'm a Jehovah's Witness/ I never chose to listen to Yachty and Lil Uzi/ Let’s take it back to Jeezy, Weezy, and Boosie/ I might listen to Tip, Ross, and a little Gucci/ But these little newbies be making me feel a little woozy."
