Rozwell Kid – “UHF On DVD”
On their 2014 debut Too Shabby, Rozwell Kid proved themselves adept torch-bearers of the kind of open-hearted alt-rock perfected in the ’90s by Rivers Cuomo and his peers. The band continues to refine their take on that sound with the album’s follow-up LP Precious Art, led by lead single “UHF On DVD.” Oscillating between crunchy, high-wire pop-punk and sweet guitar arpeggios, Rozwell Kid find the perfect balance to ground frontman Jordan Hudkins’ pained, playful lyrics of longing and isolation. But ultimately, all he needs as a correction to his anxious behavior is nothing more than to simply eat tacos and watch Weird Al’s 1989 cult-film UHF with a special someone. Listen and watch the song’s lyric video below.
Precious Art is out 6/23 via SideOneDummy Records. Pre-order it here.
