Montreal band TOPS have been quite generous sharing their new music ahead of its release date. Just two weeks ago, they stopped by the Stereogum office to debut two new songs from their upcoming album Sugar At The Gate, “Cloudy Skies” and “Marigold & Gray,” plus perform the LP’s second single “Dayglow Bimbo.” They also shared “Petals” way back in March, and today they followed suit with yet another fresh track, “Further,” via W Magazine.

Highly honest and evocative lyrics propel “Further” to wistful heights. Vocalist Jane Penny’s breathy “I just can’t it go/ I just can’t let it die” echoes hauntingly in your head long after the song is over. The song sparkles with sincerity, carving out its own much-deserved space in the realm of stirring indie pop. Check it out below.
