Watch Coldplay Sing Oasis’ “Don’t Look Back In Anger” To Ariana Grande In Manchester
Oasis formed in Manchester, and their song “Don’t Look Back In Anger” became a source of comfort in the days following the recent terrorist attack outside an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena. At a vigil in St. Ann’s Square in the wake of the bombing, the assembled mourners followed a minute of silence in honor of the victims by spontaneously joining voices to sing “Don’t Look Back In Anger.” And when Coldplay performed at Ariana Grande’s One Love Manchester benefit concert to raise money for the victims today, they opened their set by leading the crowd in a sing-along of “Don’t Look Back In Anger,” singing directly to Ariana Grande. “Ariana, we all want to say thank you to you for being so strong and so wonderful,” frontman Chris Martin said before the performance. “You’ve been singing a lot for us, so I think we in Britain want to sing for you. This is called ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger,’ and this is from us to you.” Watch below.
