Slipknot Singer Says Nickelback Singer Is An Idiot Who Has “A Face Like A Foot”
It’s hot out here in these early-’00s butt-rock streets! Earlier this week, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger started a blood feud with former Roadrunner labelmates Slipknot, referring to Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor’s Stone Sour side project as “Nickelback lite” and taking issue with the way Slipknot present themselves onstage: “They had to put on masks and jump around. How good can your music be if you’ve gotta beat each other up onstage, throw up in your own mask every night?” And now Taylor has inevitably fired back at Kroeger, pointing out that Kroeger’s face looks like a foot. (He’s right. It does. A foot with a goatee.)
As Blabbermouth points out, Taylor responded to Kroeger’s shit-talk during an interview with the Arizona radio station KUPD: “I don’t know what the hell planet he’s living on. Apparently it’s Planet Kroeger, and there must be good weed there, cuz he’s an idiot… I was so cued up to say some stuff about him, and then I just started reading all the comments online. I don’t have to say a damn thing. He is not a liked person.”
Taylor also had a slick comeback for Kroeger’s line about the masks: “You can run your mouth all you want. All I know is I’ve been voted ‘Sexiest Dude In Rock’ wearing a mask. You’ve been voted ‘Ugliest Dude In Rock’ twice without one. Stick that up your ass.”
And Taylor also said that he’s cool with everyone else in Nickelback, including Kroeger’s bass-playing brother Mike: “I love Mike… Everybody else in that band I’m very, very cool with; I’ve hung out with them. It’s just ‘Face Like A Foot’ who I can’t really hang out with. He’s got a face like a foot. Am I wrong?… See, that’s the hard thing: I can’t even say anything about the band Nickelback, because none of them have an issue with us. It’s him. So, dude, curl up in bed with your Hello Kitty pillow and shut up.”
Taylor also had a shot for his old label: “Let’s just say Roadrunner took all the Slipknot money and gave it to Nickelback to sign them. That’s all I’m going to say about it.”
