Club Night are a new project based out of Oakland, CA, and next month they’re releasing their debut EP, Hell Ya, a title that matches up with the infectious energy that the band puts forth in its first single, “Rally.” It’s a song that has an improvisational looseness to it, and the shouty and pinched-together vocals make for a disorienting listen that places the song more along the freaky side of the rock spectrum. It’s ambling and a little math-y, and the lyrics hint at a discarded youth: “You undeniably lost all meaning/ You were young once/ Racing down to the edge of our house, questioning it all.” Listen below.
