Watch Miranda Lambert Cover U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” At Faster Horses Festival
Miranda Lambert played hit after hit during her Faster Horses headlining set Saturday night (July 22), but decided to end her show with a chart-topper that isn’t her own. Following a stunning encore performance of “Tin Man,” Lambert closed the night with U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.”
“We’re all just searching for something — love, peace, happiness,” Lambert told the crowd. “So I’m gonna leave you with one that I think will heal ya.”
Lambert enlisted her backup singers (including The Voice’s Gwen Sebastian) for a harmonized country rendition of the iconic song. The singer began with nothing but one guitar playing in the background, eventually building to the full band about halfway through the performance. Between the powerful vocals and phone lights lighting up the crowd, the song certainly made for a chill-inducing finale.
Perhaps Lambert’s idea to add the U2 hit to her set sparked from seeing the Irish rock band perform it live on their Joshua Tree tour last month, which she said “changed my life” in a post-show tweet. Check out a fan-filmed clip of Lambert’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” cover below.
