Lady Gaga Speaks Out Against Trump’s Transgender Military Ban
Lady Gaga, a long time ally of the LGBTQ community, will not stand for President Donald Trump’s ban of transgender individuals in the military.
On Wednesday (July 26) after Trump announced his decision, Gaga took to Twitter to share her outrage at the new policy and raise awareness of its ramifications. The pop star shared that this ban was not only a step-backward in progress, but harmful to the lives of LGBTQ youth living in America.
“The message you have just sent has endangered the lives of people all over the United States and overseas bravely serving our nation,” she posted.
Gaga then tweeted a number of statistics explaining how young people, specifically trans youth, suffer from mental illness and Trump’s actions could make them feel even more isolated.
“Many of these young people are transgender & suffer daily from the exact types of social isolation & targeting ur message encourages,” she continued.
Lady Gaga joined a number of other musicians who were speaking out against the decision like Sam Smith, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, and more.

Within the Trans Community are many also who are strong & brave. They should be able to serve if they wish. To have honor if they do @POTUS
