Florist – “Glowing Brightly”
Last month, Florist announced that they’d be following up their 2016 debut LP, The Birds Outside Sang, with a new album called If Blue Could Be Happiness. They shared the warm and comforting “What I Wanted To Hold” at the time, and today they’ve debuted another track from the album, “Glowing Brightly.” Like the first, this one’s minimal and aromatic; it’s about finding solace in travel and nature and discovering a sort of stillness in constant movement. “Arizona, I wanna go there/ Pacific Ocean, I wanna go there,” Emily Sprague sings longingly. It’s about wanting things to be smooth and straightforward, a desire that seems increasingly impossible with time. “I just want love, I just want sun, I just want your company,” she sings. “Silhouette of a mountain in the dark/ Is there anything more beautiful than afternoon?/ Or a quiet summer night when the rainstorm gently cries.” Listen to it below.
